Ventidue anni. Qua siamo e da qua non ce ne andiamo!
Nonostante i continui attacchi, le costruzioni e le menzogne, l’autogestione dal basso, popolare aperta a tutte e tutti, continua. Perché uno spazio di libertà dove sperimentare, costruire, resistere, solidarizzare, sognare, condividere non ha bisogno né di supervisioni, né di investire 23 milioni e mezzo per un ennesimo progetto esclusivo e securizzato.
E per festeggiare degnamente 22 anni all’insegna della solidarietà e della resistenza, ospiteremo per il quinto anno la Sagra del Peperoncino Ribelle, il 20 ottobre 2018, a sostegno dei progetti in Messico della piattaforma Pirata, di cui fa parte pure il Collettivo Zapatista di Lugano.
Progetti che supportano i processi d’autonomia, d’autodeterminazione e d’autogestione delle comunità zapatiste in Chiapas, delle lavoratrici sessuali di Città del Messico, dell’occupazione di terra della Finca Alemania nello stato di Oaxaca e in generale nella resistenza dei popoli originari in lotta in tutto lo stato messicano contro saccheggi, espropri e grandi progetti del capitale.
La V Sagra sarà densa di iniziative già da metà pomeriggio.
Si comincerà dalle 15.00 con il mercato di autoproduzioni, degustazioni di peperoncini e i banchetti informativi. Nel pomeriggio ci sarà un laboratorio di costruzioni di piñata, sarà esposta la mostra delle grafiche del Consejo Nacional Indigeno, sarà attiva la serigrafia dei compagnx di 0Stile di Roma (chiunque potrà crearsi la propria maglietta) e ci sarà il forno della pizza acceso.
Alle 17.00 ci sarà la proiezione del filmato “Finca Alemania: las semillas de la libertad, autoproduzione a cura del Nodo Solidale di Roma, che racconta l’occupazione di 600 ettari di terre nelle montagne della costa sud di Oaxaca, sud-est messicano. La Finca é il quartier generale per tuttx le/gli integranti del CODEDI, una giovane organizzazione indigena composta da migliaia di persone. Ma in realtá è tante cose: é un centro di produzione di cibo biologico, un’universitá popolare, una fabbrica di mattoni, un teatro, un centro culturale, una panetteria, una casa della salute…
Alle 18.00 un ricco aperitivo “Pepitoso”, seguito dalla cena popolare piccante (e non).
Alle 20.30 la gara di resistenza al piccante, a cui seguirà la presentazione del corteo contro le frontiere di Bellinzona del 27 ottobre.
E finalmente dalle 23.00 direttamente da Messico e Francia i KUMBIA BORUKA, gruppo di 9 elementi, recentemente esibitosi al Paléo Festival di Nyon (https://lemultimedia.info/2017/07/23/kumbia-boruka-de-la-cumbia-des-sixties-a-lere-de-lelectrique/), che fonde le tradizioni della cumbia più tradizionale fino ai nuovi esplosivi suoni del reggae e della cumbia “moderna”. Per ballare fino a tarda notte.
Perché, come ci insegnarono nel lontano 1996 le compagne e i compagni zapatisti in Chiapas, la libertà non si mendica, ma si conquista.
Il Molino non si tocca. A difesa degli spazi liberati. Nessun essere umano è illegale!

Hernan Cortés grew up in the ‘80’s in a working-class neighbourhood of Monterrey, a megalopolis spilling over itself which is the Mexican capital of cumbia. During his youth while watching his parents in the local dancing halls dancing to this rhythm brought in from Colombia which permeated all Latin America through labour migrations he fostered on this music which describes everyday life and the joys and sorrows of ordinary people. At the same time, Bob Sikou who grew up in the shadow of a housing development tower in Dijon was learning all about reggae. Some years later, the leading duo of Kumbia Boruka met up in the reggae scene in Lyon with the firm intention of combining their influences and life histories at the right moment. Hernan had the chance to learn the accordion and the science of Cumbia from one of its creators, the Mexican Celso Pina (guest on the title El Porro Manguangueleno), for whom he was the percussionist during long international tours. The choice of his old friend Bob Sikou (Bawajafar’n Free) to accompany him in his own group was evident. By now married to a woman from Chile, the singer was now living in Lyon and thanks to his knowledge of Spanish could at last exploit the links between cumbia and reggae: his talent as an author and his exuberant energy did the rest… Sharing a strong friendship and the desire to write together, our duettists were able to link up with the best musicians of Sono Mondiale made in Lyon and a great group of friends. As sound engineer the indispensable Bruno « Patchworks » allowed them to set the framework for a hybrid cumbia, modern and aware. The accordion obviously dominates but every little element fits into Kumbia Boruka. The guitar virtuoso Andrès Ségura sometimes evokes a Peruvian version of cumbia, the famous chicha based on ayahuasca, with his staggering solos reaching psychedelic heights. The swinging bass of the Chilean Rodrigo Bastidas Nunez invites all to dance while the hypnotic guijo of Tadeo Cortés, Hernan’s brother, gives the tempo. The smart drumming of Hadrien Santos Da Silva, born in Colombia, plays around with the different languages of cumbia while the dazzling brass section upholds the accordion melodies and opens up the harmonies. The complicity of the musicians of Kumbia Boruka is as obvious on stage as on their album with, as more than a title but a leitmotif: La Vida se vive! On the road for a year and a half now, they have brought their hybrid cumbia and infanted their album onto prestigious stages: Les Nuits de Fourvière (Lyon, France), Fusion Festival (Lärz, Germany), La Fiesta de la Melonera (Madrid, Spain), le Festival de Jazz de Montreux
(Switzerland), Le Kit Café (Düsseldorf, Germany) Le Reitschule (Bern, Switzerland), Le Transbordeur ou le Ninkasi Kao (Lyon). They are ambitious and are not going to stop there: they intend to bring everywhere this first album conceived as a kind of Sonidero (a neighbourhood sound system from Mexico, called picos in Colombia) which plays with styles to federate different communities and get them on the dancefloor. The album based on the cumbia rhythm is articulated around the group’s compositions influenced by reggae (Ven Aqui) or pop (Se siente, La Vida se Vive,), without forgetting its African roots (Din Dun). Finally, the covers of 60’s classics re-arranged and appropriated to the Boruka sauce (Danza Negra, La Cumbia del Amor, El Porro Manguangueleno with Celso Pina) or the Mexican phenomenon from the ‘80’s (No Bailes de Caballito) complete a unique repertory which fluctuates between an assumed lightness and easy living – « boruka” means a joyful mess/brothel in slang – and full consciousness of what fate may bring us (El Grito, Un Pedazo de Mi).
